Hiking around Düsseldorf

Ruhr region is not particularly famous for the surrounding nature. Yet, there are still quite some places to walk around. Since February 2017 we are going hiking every Sunday. Every time different place with different people of various origins, ages, occupations etc. Anyway, we go together, but as independent hikers. Join us if you want to enjoy your Sunday!

January 28, 2018 Hiking from Meerbusch to Krefeld!

Hey guys! Wondering how to get rid of the fat stocked during the Christmas holidays? Let's walk outside and enjoy talking with interesting people! This time, we're proposing a hike from Meerbusch to Krefeld, a surprisingly nice zone near Düsseldorf!

The plan is as follows: we'll see each other at the main entrance of Düsseldorf Hbf at 11:00. We then take the U76 at 11:26 at subway platform 3. It will arrive at Haus Meer at 11:49 and start directly hiking. Easy, isn't it? If you come from a different city, feel free to join us wherever you want. It's within the VRR region so if you have a semester ticket/ticket 2000/young ticket PLUS, you can travel there for free. And even if you don't, it's very likely that you can travel for free with us.

The map can be downloaded from here. The total distance is about 13 km. We'll then have a break at Lank-Latum. At the end the hike, there's even a small castle (Burg Linn) we can visit!

The event is also organised on couch surfing. You can find it here.

Hope to see you there!!

The plan is quite simple: we'll see each other in front of the main entrance of Düsseldorf Hbf at 10:40. Then we take the Eurobahn at 11:12 from platform 7 and go up to Hagen Hbf. Then we'll change to an RE that leaves from platform 2 at 12:11 that goes up to Dahl, which should arrive at 12:23.

The total distance is about 12 km. We'll then have a break at Priorei.

The event is also organised on couch surfing. You can find it here.
